The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut when 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children and 6 adult staff members. The sun newspaper tells us of his obsession with violent video games and their direct link with the massacre in Sandy Hook. We may use this in our documentary as a direct example of the effects of violent video games on young people minds.

There has also been direct links to violence and in extreme cases shooting and murders which have been directly related to players of violent video games.

Anders Behring Breivik (Norwegian pronunciation: born 13 February 1979) is the perpetrator of the 2011 Norway attacks. On 22 July 2011, he bombed government buildings in Oslo, killing eight people. He then killed 69 more people, mostly teenagers, in a mass shooting at a Workers' Youth League (AUF) camp on the island of Utøya

With the information we have gathered from various articles it has given us a greater insight into how the media have a very negative opinion towards video games and how there's a link between the crimes committed. We will use this to our advantage as our documentary will be negative towards violent video games. we will use quotes from the articles in our documentary and refer back to them as they will support our argument.
